"Cold
Springs / Docks" showing the launch Reliance at center left & several small
recreational boats at the Cold Springs Resort on Hamilton
Lake, sepia-tone real photo post card mailed 1911 (partial Toledo & St. ... RPO cancel) to Mrs. W. J. McMorgan in Toledo Ohio. Rarely offered,
probably because the caption does not specify the state or which Cold Springs
in Indiana it is. The Toledo, St. Louis & Western passes to the south of
this lake and is the only railroad operating in Ohio starting Toledo & St.
... at that time; it would, therefore, be a logical way to get mail to
Toledo quickly. There is a Cold Springs Indiana near to and slightly to the
west of Cincinnati; it borders Whitaker Creek, where it branches. But one
look at the water in the view & all of the boats tells us this is a big
lake, and not the fork of any creek. Sold but front

docks, Bosselman-published post card with undivided back, mailed at Toledo
OCT 15 1907 to Mr. Leon Wood in Chattanooga Tennessee. Astonishingly, the
ship at the lower right front is named the 'Fred McBrier', which sank in the
Straits of Mackinac in 1890. To the best of our knowledge, they never named
another ship like that, so this has to be a very old colorized view.
Supporting that view, note that all of the ships shown have masts.

size of a regular postcard with a side view of a steam locomotive with
