were one of the first documented Jews in Bukovina, and Czernowitz is the
major city of Bukovina. Buchbinder is the name of a Jewish banker in
Czernowitz at that time. Thus, this postcard depicts the Jewish bank
building which was completed on the Ringstrasse there in 1899. Black & white
