-- Le Saut basque" or 'saut de basque' as the dance step is also known as,
illustrated on a circa-1920 carte postale with green back, late usage at
Soham New Mexico (2 different postal markings), a little toning near the
back borders, 2 small water spots in the address area. The turning aspects &
the characteristic foot elevation to the knee (foreground) are particularly
well conveyed because each dancer is in a different part of the move.
Probably a scene from or near Ciboure in the
Pyrénées-Atlantiques
department of France. We have seen reproductions of this postcard offered as
high as 39 Euros, but why not own the real thing from us for only $7.50.
